How To Identify Fluids By Their Color
Yellowish green, pastel blue or florescent orange colors indicate an overheated engine or an antifreeze leak caused by a bad hose, water pump or leaking radiator.
Spotting a dark brown or black oily fluid means the engine is leaking oil. Possibly it's a worn seal or gasket that could be causing the leak.
If you notice a redish oily spot this typically indicates a transmission or power-steering fluid leak.
A small puddle of clear water normally isn't a problem. It usually indicates normal condensation from your motor vehicle's air conditioner.
