Windshield Laminated Glass
So you've gotten a chip on your windshield. However, it doesn't mean that you need to buy a brand-new windshield.
Why not get your windshield repaired instead?
With the use of modern technology you can quickly and efficiently have your windshield repaired. And it's a MUCH more cost effective solution.
Laminated Glass Is Best For Car Windshields
If you stop and think about it for a minute, you'll probably agree that ordinary household glass is pretty amazing. Why? Because it's strong, clear, and really quite affordable. But its only real drawback is that it is somewhat brittle in nature, and so when it breaks it can create dangerous shards, making it a poor (and, dangerous) choice for motor vehicle windshield glass.
Plastic is much safer, but... it's NOT scratch resistant. Because of this factor, it will not remain clear enough for motor vehicle windshield glass either. So, auto manufacturers use tempered glass on the side windows which is far stronger than household glass and if it breaks it ONLY breaks into tiny little cubes that aren't as dangerous as shards.
They're still sharp but they're far safer!
But tempered glass doesn't work for windshields. Why? Because windshield glass is constantly being bombarded with tiny pebbles, rocks, grit, sand, gravel, and other types of road debris. Tempered glass would have a very short life span.
So manufacturers started use laminated glass.
Laminated glass has all of the attributes of the other types of glass but is much stronger, safer and is MUCH more scratch resistant.
